Lake Nona Among Nation’s Top 20 Master-Planned Communities Of 2013
With another year of record-breaking sales, Lake Nona Remains #1 in Orlando
Residential sales have continued to soar at Lake Nona, earning the 7,000-acre community in southeast Orlando a spot among the nation’s top-selling, master-planned communities of 2013.
Citing “an innovative and diverse mix of housing product, a growing on-site employment base and new amenities,” RCLCO identified Lake Nona as the top-selling community in Orlando, and the 13th top-selling, master-planned community in the United States. Another real estate consulting firm, John Burns Consulting, also listed Lake Nona as the most active master-planned community in Orlando and 14th in the nation in 2013.
Lake Nona recorded 475 new home sales last year, up eight percent over 2012. Activity was particularly strong at Laureate Park, Lake Nona’s newest neighborhood, where sales nearly doubled to 268 new contracts.
“We have a lot going for us – Central Florida location, great climate, tremendously accessible, and with the wide variety of neighborhoods and the multitude of amenities we offer, Lake Nona continues to be a very attractive choice for new home buyers,” said Rob Adams, vice president of Lake Nona. “We think 2014 promises to be an even better year as the Orlando VA Medical Center is completed and more and more retail and dining options open onsite.”
Planned and built from scratch by private investment organization Tavistock Group, Lake Nona started with a vision and patience, and through public and private partnership, evolved into one of the nation’s fastest-growing and most innovative communities. Using the best in planning principles, design practices and smart growth features, Lake Nona yields a unique integration of neighborhoods, modern infrastructure and commercial development via cutting-edge technology, which enables a simplified, more energy-efficient way of life.
